FTC DECODE 2025-2026
Meet: The Baby Shark!
Say hello to The Baby Shark, our robot for the 2025-2026 Decode season and our first ever competition bot! We designed, built, and improved it throughout our first ever FTC season, and we're pretty proud of how far it came. (Check out the end of the page for info about our robot.)
We attended the Tech On the Valley qualifier on January 3rd, where we ranked 6th place in ranking points (a metric used in FTC to rank teams based on wins and losses). Then, on January 31st, we went to the Brookline Robo Rally 1, where we achieved 4th place (in RP). Â
We made semi-finals and tied for 6th place overall at both of our qualifiers!
We won 7 out of 10 qualifying matches at both our tournaments!
We got the final event record score!
OFF-SEASON
What We Are Working On
In order to prepare for the 2026–27 BioBuzz season and continue growing as a team, every section of our team is hard at work — improving our technology, expanding our skills, and deepening our roots in the community.
-
Our code team is implementing PedroPathing for more precise and reliable autonomous navigation.
-
Our build team is redesigning our Decode robot from the ground up, drawing on lessons learned from the season and insights gathered from other teams, expanding into new techniques like building lifts and working with chain systems. They have dubbed it, the MiniBot!
-
Members from both the build and code teams are diving into CAD, learning to design and 3D print custom parts and fully model an FTC robot.
-
Our outreach team is actively building lasting partnerships for future events, and connecting with local FLL teams to mentor next season, while already working with some of those teams today.
MiniBot Progression Pictures
For 23 hours split up over many weeks in 1.5 hour sessions, our build team has been designing and building the MiniBot based on succesfull strategies we saw at our qualifiers. We wanted the MiniBot to have:
-
A lift
-
A hooded shooter
-
A flexible intake
Wait till mid-June for when we release a video on our youtube channel detailing the MiniBot and our other offseason achievements!
